Completely new

The Ergon developers have taken a completely new approach to the topic of women’s mountain bike saddles. After intensive research with X-ray and CT analysis, they have created a new generation of saddles. Countless prototypes have been tested by both professionals and recreational riders. This feedback, in combination with scientific data developed a new generation of comfort for women.

Pelvic flexibility

Women tend to rock forward more on the saddle compared to men due to an increased flexibility in the pelvis and hips. This often causes considerable pressure in the genital area. The SM Women is designed in a way to support a woman’s wider and more rocked forward pelvis while alleviating sensitive soft tissue with a tapered cut out.

Lower pubic symphysis

Anatomically, the pubic symphysis (anterior cartilage connection between the two halves of the pelvis) is about a quarter lower in women than in men. In addition, the angle of the pubic bones to each other is larger. These distinguished differences are taken into account with the development of the SMC Women in order to prevent discomfort in the sensitive areas.

Specific Relief

Due to the characteristics of women’s pelvis, women have suffered discomfort for years on standard saddles. The SMC Women alleviates sensitive soft tissue pressure with the tapered relief channel preventing numbness and pain. Alleviating this pressure better distributes the rider’s body weight more towards the sit bones while alleviated unwanted pressures in a forward rocked position.

ORTHOPEDIC FOAM – Comfortable and durable

The padding of the SMC Women is made of thick orthopedic comfort foam. To match the demands of mountain biking, the foam is shaped in a way to be ergonomic with attention to materials that are particularly robust. This provides optimal riding support and pressure relief with the added benefit of durability.

CUSTOMIZED RELIEF – Pressure relief

Based on intensive research and feedback from our test riders, the saddle features a specific tapered cut out that supports and alleviates unnecessary pressures on sensitive female anatomy. This channel is precisely where women need relief.

FLAT REAR – Best mobility downhill

The saddle’s rear is a flatter design to support a more upright sitting position while mountain biking. In addition, the angle of the front of the saddle provides freedom of movement while pedaling. The SMC provides the support and relief you need through dynamic and demanding terrain.

NZ Islands Courier Charges:

If you order with us and live on a NZ Island like Waiheke and Great Barrier etc our customer care team will contact you immediately to discuss freight charges/options.

We focus on keeping our product prices as low as possible rather than building shipping costs into the price and then offering "free" shipping on everything. We therefore pay the courier fees ourselves however the fees to the Island communities have become so exorbitant we can't cover all of those costs and will discuss options.

Bulky Items:

Additional charges may also apply to bulky order that measure outside the normal courier package parameters. Our friendly customer care team will contact you right away if this is the case.

Processing Times:

All orders are processed during weekday business hours (9 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday.) Orders made on weekends and public holidays will be processed the next business day.

While we try to have most products in our store and warehouse at all times if the product is not in stock we will order from our New Zealand-based suppliers. We will contact you to advise you of this and inform you of any delivery delays.

Track and trace:

We work with NZ Post for delivery. Once your package has left our building and been scanned on board by the courier you will receive an automated email from us with your track and trace details so you can follow its progress.

Please note: queries for missing/lost items must be completed within 14 days of despatch and queries for damaged items within 7 days of delivery. If you do not lodge a query with us within these time frames, we will be unable to make a claim with our courier.
